Where the heck is Door
County Living Classrooms?
Door County is located in northeast Wisconsin and extends
into Lake Michigan to form the land barrier between the bay of Green Bay (home
of the Packers) and cool blue waters of Lake Michigan itself. For those folks
that carry the map of Wisconsin with them all the time (i.e. your left hand held
palm out/away from you) Door County would be your thumb. Door County
Living Classrooms is located in what
some call the door to Door County, Sturgeon Bay. On your map, Sturgeon Bay is
just below the crease in your thumb knuckle.
Door County Living Classrooms operates out of Sturgeon Bay. One must recognize that Door County is a long and narrow peninsula about 14
miles wide at the southern most point and a mere 2-3 miles wide at the northern
most point. Sturgeon Bay is about 1/3 of the way into the county from the south
and generally offers the most centralized location for our guided
eco-experiences.
